A word mining games company has created a game that can be played on the Nintendo Switch, the GamePad and the Wii U.
In word mining, the player is tasked with finding words that are randomly generated and have no relation to any known word.
Players can choose to search through words, try and solve the puzzles or simply read them.
This new game is called ‘Word Hunting’ and the creators are aiming to be the first to do so on the new Nintendo Switch.
“We want to make this game available to the wider public,” co-founder and CEO Peter Kiely said.
“The word hunters have been in the game industry for a long time.
They’ve got their own word mining company and they’re not really well known to the general public.”
What we’re trying to do is bring that word hunting experience to the Nintendo platform and really bring that into the mainstream gaming environment.
“Word Hunting is the first word mining title to launch on the Switch.
It is also the first time word hunting games have been created on the console, and Kielys hopes that word mining will grow on the platform.”
It’s a new genre, so it’s really exciting,” he said.
It has been a long road from word mining to a new console, but the team is confident that word gathering will grow as the console becomes more popular.”
I think it’s going to be a very different experience,” Mr Kieles said.
He said word hunting would not be a competition to other gaming genres.”
Word hunting has a lot of similarities to real life word gathering and I think word hunting will be very similar to real world word gathering.
“Mr Kielyn said word mining would also have a strong appeal to people who like to create their own puzzles.”
This game is really going to capture people’s imagination, so I think it’ll appeal to a lot more people than what they’re used to,” he added.
